Hi, I'm Jon, founder of Emotiv Personal Training, Bristol (Clevedon). I started Emotiv Personal Training with one simple aim, to encourage people to Enjoy Being Active!
Since a very young age, I've actively participated in almost any competitive sport (it's hard not to, when you're the eldest of 10 siblings). However, the real reason I started was to lose weight, which formed the early part of my passion for nutrition. As I grew older, exercise and nutrition became integral to my day to day life, helping me through various times.
Over the last 10 years I’ve tried lots of fitness programmes, diet and weight techniques. If you can name it, I've probably tried it. The frustrations and difficulties I’ve encountered and overcome have given me the tools, passion and experience to help others to shorten their own fitness journeys .
As a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer, I specialise in weight management. I firmly believe in the importance of lifestyle and long-term habits, not 'quick-fix' solutions. My approach to exercise is very much holistic, using my expertise in fitness, nutrition and psychology to create a fully rounded view of a healthy lifestyle.
When it comes to fitness, I love to surf and play football. I'm also a big fan of 'functional fitness equipment', such as the TRX or Kettlebells and finding new ways to teach age old exercise like the elusive pull-up.
When I'm not in the gym, you'll find me in the kitchen, creating (but never following) recipes to add to my collection. I also love to continue to learn, staying ahead of industry trends and delivering the latest knowledge and techniques directly to my clients.
